Scratching the Surface is BACK at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre Pub on Saturday 3rd August 2019!
The concept of Scratching the Surface is to provide a platform for new writing and emerging artists. We strongly believe that quality is not dependent on big budgets, and our past (sold out!) new writing nights have proven that professional theatre can be made with collaboration, commitment, and a lot of enjoyment!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
There will be 8 scenes and shorts of varying genres by different writers. We need a company of actors and team of directors to bring these exciting new gems to life!
This is an opportunity for everyone involved to challenge themselves and learn something new.
Director? Why not take on a scene outside of your usual comfort zone.
Actor? How about you exercise those acting muscles with a brand new character.
Scratching the Surface is a place for growth, learning and professional experience (you can add your involvement to all relevant casting sites and CVs!). It’s also a great space to meet and work with like-minded and wonderful creatives.
You can be involved in one or two scenes, and can apply as both an actor and director in the same application. We will consider you for everything you apply for, but you may not be guaranteed all the roles you apply for.

We have created a quick and easy Google form for you to complete.
There are two versions of the form so make sure you select the correct one.

Actors will also need to include link to their show reel. Don’t have one? Worry not! Just include a short self-tape in your application. Webcams and phone videos are totally fine! We won’t be judging on film quality, we just want to get a better sense of who you are.

The deadline is 19th June at 2pm, so don’t delay! The application form realty is easy, so don’t put of applying.
